The Silver Service Project

Prestwich carnival have been successful in securing funding through Ambition for Ageing to do a programme with 60 residents in Prestwich (over 50), on Saturday the 23rd June 2018. This project aims to reduce social isolation, loneliness and build civic pride amongst elderly residents allowing them to celebrate in the carnival fun. The ‘Silver Service’ project will allow a group of elderly residents to feel part of, and connected to, these celebrations.  Together with part funding secured from a successful Parklife Community Fund bid in March, the carnival team are able to roll out the ‘Silver Service’ project as part of the 94th annual Prestwich carnival celebrations.  This will be a sit down lunch with entertainment and other activities.  Prestwich carnival would like to thank Morrison’s in Whitefield for providing some of the catering & Bury Venues for assisting with the hiring of equipment to make our ‘Silver Service’ project participants very special.

For more information on this please contact us on:  enquiry@prestwichcarnival.co.uk.
